- Repairing a burned countertop

Dear Shell,

We inadvertently placed a hot pot on our arborite kitchen countertop leaving a slightly scorched partial ring. Is there anything we can do to repair or conceal this?

Dear Tom,

Oops! This always makes your day doesn't it ? Well if you were in the greater Vancouver area we would send you to Dan the Countertop Man (604-530-8237) and he would fix the problem but unfortunately, he's not in Kamloops. My suggestion is to pick out some ceramic tiles that blend with your kitchen décor (maybe you have some left over from the backsplash). Router out an area suitable to set in 4 to 6 tiles using silicone caulking for adhesive and grout.

It's just that easy.
