- Removing glue from ceilings |
Dear Shell, We are attempting to remove acoustic tile from our living room, dining room, hallway and bedroom ceilings. Each tile (1foot by 1foot) has four big globs of black glue pasting it to the ceiling. The tiles come off easily, but leave the glue behind. We cannot find any chemicals that will remove the glue. We have resorted to a chisel and hammer. This is leaving huge dents in our ceiling and is extremely difficult and time consuming. Is there something else we can do? Thanks, Corina Dear Corina, Save yourself time and effort by applying 1x2 strapping at 12” centers right over the globs of glue and re drywall your ceiling. Finish the perimeter of your wall with Nova Crown Moulding (foam type). This product is made by Synko, and is applied with drywall filler. It's just that easy. Article courtesy of: Shell Busey |
