- Cutting angles on mouldings |
Dear Shell, I have purchased some CROWN MOULDING and now find I don't know how to figure out the angles. It is 45 degrees to the wall and ceiling. I have 30, 60, 90 and 120 degree cuts to make. Is there a formula to follow or should I call in a carpenter. It could be just that easy. Thanks, Len Dear Len, Great question but “not that easy” to give in words. But here it goes: 45 degrees is the angle at the ceiling and the wall where the equal distances from the corner meet. When you cut your moulding always stand the moulding in the mitre box or mitre chop saw the same way as it would be fitted to the ceiling. You should consider renting a compound mitre saw to make “It Just That Easy”. Coming soon on my Home Check TV program the answer to your question in living colour. Stay tuned and be listening to my show on CKNW 980 AM this Saturday and I will address this topic. It's just that easy. Article courtesy of: Shell Busey |
