For wood decks, choose products that will stand the test of time:

Use pressure treated lumber for the floor joist and other support structure.

The decking and trim boards can be pressure treated or cedar lumber to meet your budget and decor needs. Choose from regular 2" x 6" or 5/4" x 6" radius edge deck boards.

Prepare the surface of the deck with mill glaze remover and apply good quality natural oil to the surface. This will prolong the life of the wood and increase the time before the next maintenance is required.

New "limited maintenance" deck board products are becoming available in the market. Ask the experts at your local TIM-BR-Mart store for more information.
