- Exterior house painting |
Dear Shell, This is to do with exterior house painting. I have tried for three weeks to phone in to your show on QR77 but have not got through. My question is why do you recommend acrylic latex paint to be used? Is it better than oil based paint, or is it just easier to work with? Secondly if I use acrylic latex what form of primer would I use? (At the present I have oil based paint which is in need of a re-coat). Thanks, Thomas Dear Thomas, 1. Today's acrylic latex exterior paints are very durable and compatible with oil based primers or previous coats of paint. 2. Prepare by washing siding with my Shell Busey's Home Cleaning Formula (heavy duty mix) and rinse well with clean water. 3. Apply by brush or spray a best quality acrylic latex paint. It's just that easy. Article courtesy of: Shell Busey |
