- Moulding application

To measure for mouldings list all wall lengths with the hope of purchasing moulding lengths long enough to minimize the number of pieces per wall.

Installing moulding is simplified when mitreing into inside corners using the coping method. This is when one piece of moulding is applied with butt end into the corner and the is other cut with a coping saw to the profile of the first piece.

When using a compound mitre saw or mitre box to cut mitres always use fence stops on the saw base table. This allows the profile of the moulding to be held in place as it would be installed on the floor or ceiling.
