- Painting eavestrough, soffits and fascia

Dear Shell,

I would like to change the color of my metal eavestrough, soffits, and fascia, it is presently chocolate brown. Can it be painted to hunter green and if so what would be required to do it?

Dear Larry,

Yes, Aluminum soffits, fascia and gutters can be painted. First, clean using my powdered Shell Busey's Home Cleaning Formula available at most building supply stores. Wash with the heavy duty mixture and rinse well. Using the best acrylic latex exterior paint apply two coats 8 hours apart. If the temperature is going below freezing at night you should wait until spring to do this project. Also make sure you don't do this in the hot sun.

It's just that easy.
