- Preparing the basement floor for parquet wood flooring |
Dear Shell, I wish to put parquet wood flooring in the basement. The basement is dry and the house 35 years old. IF Delta Fl is the Best in Good, Better and Best what is the "Better”? Can I attach pressure treated plywood directly to the concrete perhaps with a plastic shield of some sort in between? I need to complete the project before Christmas. Thank you for your assistance. I enjoy the radio show. Thanks, Rob Dear Rob, Good, Better, Best – Delta FL is the best approach. Do a moisture test by taping a plastic garbage bag to the concrete for 48 hours. If you can see the outline of the bag after removing it you must moisture proof the floor. 1. Muriatic acid wash the concrete floor. Rinse well and allow to dry. Then apply Xypex Crystalization sealer. 2. Apply Delta FL to the concrete with ˝ ” plywood over top. 3. Install your parquet flooring. Call Basement Systems, Calgary for further information on supply source for Delta FL. Their phone # is 1-888-844-0616. It's Just That Easy. Article courtesy of: Shell Busey |
