- Refinishing a dresser |
Dear Shell, We recently purchased a very old dresser that we wanted to refinish for our new baby's room. The dresser is solid wood. There is an odor, not really musty but an old smell. Some of the drawers are warped so we are assuming the dresser was stored in a damp location. Can you suggest a product we can use to get rid of that odor? I won't use the dresser for fear of the baby's clothes absorbing the smell. Thanks, Sandra Dear Sandra, Wash the dresser with my Shell Busey's Home Cleaning Formula. It is available through Home Hardware stores. Use heavy duty mix and wash all areas top and bottom inside and out. Rinse well and allow to dry. When dry spray or brush on 2 coats of lacquer available in natural or colours. Note do not use water based finishes. It's just that easy. Article courtesy of: Shell Busey |
