- Problems with rodents living in your soffits |
Dear Shell, Two black squirrels have made a home in our soffits. They enter through a triangular shaped opening where the soffit terminates at the end of the roof. Can they do any harm up there? Should I remove them and seal up this opening--or are these open for ventilation? Thanks, Lane Dear Lane, You do not want to harbour squirrels as they can make their home in a sheltered area of your house. It is best to act now when they have left for the season. Make sure the whole family has left and then close up the triangle with ¼” galvanized hardware cloth. This will allow venting and keep the pests out as well. It's just that easy.
